Blue pants
These pants are super comfy, but the color is throwing me. How would you style these?

the only thing that strikes me as a little strange about the outfit is the jacket, specifically the color. i would personally wear like something green or maybe a cardigan instead?
So something in a softer color than navy blue?
White top
Or a darker blue, like royal
Would avoid navy
yes, but i love the yellow shirt with it!
The tie and the jacket doesn’t match the shirt and the pants, pastels and hard colors aren’t meshing well with this one
agreed I feel like the jacket and tie are a bit too somber for how colorful the rest of the outfit is
I feel like they'd really shine with some other playful colors or just white/ecru

I feel like the pants and shoes are both trying to make a statement and getting in an argument. Maybe try with brown loafers or derbies, without changing the rest of the outfit.
Eh, there's a color theme of softer overall colors with the pants, shoes and shirt. The shoes can fit the theme
had this exact convo somewhere else yesterday lmao
light blue chinos are deceptively hard to style, but: various shades of white/off-white/tan, light gray, navy, striped or plaid patterns (i think you'd have to do the eye test on an individual basis) would all make sense imo
but they're a loud pant, and i think the move is embracing that - a breton stripe to go nautical, an aloha shirt to go midcentury, whatever the guy on the right is doing to go esquire man

separate point but i'd also try the same combination of things with a pair of jeans; i think it and the sneakers together would balance against how traditional everything else is
I was trying for a “go to hell pant” look but I don’t think theyre saturated enough for that.
I’ll try some of your advice, this is very useful.
Thanks! I’m so used to a navy blazer being this totally neutral outfit staple I can throw over anything. I’ll be a little more cautious of this sort of strong navy moving forward
Thanks! It’s a recent pickup and I love it
