Fellas, what do we think of this shirt and tie combo?

I’m going to my sister’s graduation on Saturday and wanted to dress up since I don’t have many occasions to. At first I thought the color combo (sorry about the weird lighting, cloudy day), was pretty cool, but I’m wondering if the chambray shirt texture goes with the rest of the fit? I know chambray isn’t usually used in more formal fits, but I wanted to see my idea IRL. Thank you for the advice in advance bros 🤝 Info: Navy blazer with brass buttons (I don’t know what brand), RL chambray button down, vintage Brooks Brothers tie. On the bottom is chinos and mahogany weejuns.

Chambray doesn’t really work for me Think a different tie would help if you had like a knit tie or somethin Orrrrr like a brown blazer instead of the navy perhaps I think the concept (blazer chambray tie) works I just don’t like this execution of it

Knit tie has been the consistent feedback! It’s too late for me to try to get one before the graduation but I’m going to save it for next time. Trying to dress up more just because. So this is perfect. Thank you

I think with an oxford cloth shirt it would be fine, but the texture of the chambray is a bit too much for the blazer and tie. I think the chambray would be awesome with a tweed blazer and a knit or woollen or linen tie. Or shantung silk if you're a haberdashery nerd.

Fwiw i dont think this looks bad, but i agree with art it just doesnt work suuuper well. If this is what you have at hand i think you will look fine for the graduation
