Valkyrien Skies fade-out

VS has config options to increase ship render distance beyond server render distance; I have had this set to 4096 while using Bobby Reforged without issue. With DH, ships fade out like in the attached screenshot. I've read the few VS2 related threads in here and at least one has described a similar (if not, the same) issue. Not sure if they are actually the same though, so I'm making a post. Is there a way I can stop the ships from disappearing?

NB: I have disabled both vanilla and DH fog to no effect. Regardless, I suspect this might still be some issue with something relating to fog or shaders

Try disabling fading between DH and vanilla chunks
