Issue with steam games
Hi there, i tried playing vrchat and it worked fine, but after closing it it will not start up anymore no matter what unless i reinstall it.
i sent a picture of the proton version i am using

should i use Proton GE instead?
Are the games installed to an external drive or a drive other than bazzite is installed to?
I have the same problem with "Code Vein" aswell.

AMD Radeon 7900 xt
Code Vein is installed on a secondary drive
What format is the secondary drive?
it was on an NVME SSD with btrfs
now it rests on a HDD with ext4
Make sure you have ownership and exec perms
If you do, both of you set your game launch options to
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Then run and get it crash
Log gets made in your home directory

so can confirm its not a proton issue
i do have this installed but i have no idea if this effects startup behavior

and that means it's the games "fault" ?
this doesnt matter btw as i dont have my vr connected atm, just testing
My friend also has Bazzite and can play this game no issue
he also has it installed on an ext4 drive and it works out of the box and can launch it multiple times

just verfied and launched succesfully
but it crashed after pressing "New Game" in the mein menu
relaunch no luck
@Kyle Gospo i found out the game only crashes when steamvr is also open at same time

also i noticed in steamvr my openxr runtime is set as none, and clicking the set steamvr button doesnt work
im now trying this fix and ill let you know if that was the issue

issue is fixed, proton RTSP works for vrchat!

If this is not a Bazzite/Proton Issue and the game is crashing even with verified files, then the thing coming to mind is the Hardware setup.
Since my friend has no problems running the game.
