FFmpeg error 234, unable to create thumbnails
Hi. A couple days ago, Immich started to bug out for me. Every entry after a certain date showed up as "Error Loading Image", and wouldn't show the image as a result. Checking jobs to hopefully refresh everything, I also realized no jobs were running. There were things in the active tab, but nothing ran, some "failed", but the numbers just never went down. Finally, I went over to portainer and checked logs, where there were many errors piling up, with the most noticable being an "FFmpeg error 234", and "Conversion failed"! Most images uploaded came from Google Pixel 9 and Samsung S25 Ultra.

note: nothing has been uploaded for multiple hours (but the "active" number hasn't changed regardless)

Why do you have so many concurrent jobs?
You should have like 10, maybe 20 on a powerful host, not ... 500
yeah... set this a couple years ago and forgot about it, will turn it down now
Doesn't change the ffmpeg part though...
Do you have hardware acceleration enabled?
It might be misconfigured
Sorry for late response, but where can I find that?
I don't believe I do, as there really isnt a good GPU on this machine (integrated laptop graphics probably wont cut it)
It's a toggle in the GUI
No, I do not

Oh I missed that you upload to your USB
did you docker compose down and up again?
Your uSB might have disconnected briefly
yes, one restart later, the jobs are still paused, but the drive is writable. They can write but there's some other error stopping it from processing or displaying
