Photo export from old server
Doing a sort of fresh install and just going to CLI re-upload photos from a dump of the old server not really "migration"
Though ran into an interesting issue. on the old immich server web ui > admin > server-status to confirm usage and photo / video count, noticed it's much more than what's in the actual directory on the server. In comparison when navigating the directories via CLI or GUI navigating to -- %Docker Directory% > Library > user the count is drastically different
THOUGH I think at one point I switched to the Storage Template which might be the cause, though how do I find the rest of the photos the Docker Directory > upload directory has some nonsense folders with various amounts of usage but nothing to add up to actual missing amount.
New server I started with the Storage Template Engine right away.
Thanks again team!

- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).

Without the right information we can't work out what the problem is. Help us help you ;)
If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.I can provide log files as well Docker Compose logs are 26mb, I can tail that down if needed

It might not be worth the hassle, I do still have my google takout, plus the existing folder for the user, and what ever is left on the phone, PROBABlY will be fine and just de-dupe 🙂
Hi @sr20kschmitz if you run storage template migration and it finishes, everything left in uploads should be old uploads that have not been deleted
This can be true only if you started using immich from before version 1.118 or about
Thanks @Mraedis I'll take a look this weekend though I though I went through it all. I think my biggest concern is that I'm not finding a folder on the server that matches what the web UI shows for usage on that user.
hmm
What is your UPLOAD_LOCATION?
like an HDD/SSD, or a network mount or ... ?
I think I stated getting into it somewhere around V 1.70 ha.
It is all local, my first iteration was an old laptop running debian bare metal so nothing fancy all local on the one drive
Again not a huge ordeal I'm still on on the old installation and can poke around this weekend
mmm
Curiously you have 3 folders, 1 of which is exactly the size your web UI has for May
Do you have partner sharing enabled @sr20kschmitz ?
Thinking Orange is maybe the right one

Going to their pictures through your account is the quickest way to verify the UUID I know 😛
No partnershareing yet
lol sounds good this may be a situation were another set of eyes was needed ha 🙂
I'm guessing this will be solved with a storage template migration though
if you edit the template name (May for instance) and don't run that job, all the assets will remain in the old location
new ones will be stored in the new locatino
I'll do another Folder Migration job and see if things get cleared up.
Gotcha this may all be a "doing steps out of order and not waiting" type of situation
No it's a different job
OH OH

The bottom job is an old one
HA I'll give that a try and see how things go, thank you again! I was probably hitting the old one
Sounds good, let us know 🙂
will do!
oh is it just useless now?
It has a purpose but it's not needed in this case
I just did both for fun, I'll check up on them later 😄
ah ok
me too
Folders never changed, I did just do a CLI Import against the long string folder, seems like folder "May" was possibly old or during some testing I must have done and was a red herring. We are all set and migrated to the new server thanks again! We can close this 🙂
