iOS Recents album

I uploaded all the photos from my Recents album to immich, which on ios is every photo in your photos library. now they are all in my library in an album called recents, and trying to add other albums to upload (which have duplicates of the photos already in "Recents") just creates empty albums in immich. is there a way for me to put photos back into the albums they were in originally, or do i just have to reupload everything?

What happens when you hit the sync button when you go into the upload menu, then hit the setting wheel in the top right?

nothing i get a spinner for a few seconds and then it freezes and nothing changes in my library i've just tried clearing the duplicates blacklist and hitting the button again but i doubt it will do anything since the blacklist only had a few hundred photos on it ok i scrolled down in my albums and it's created some albums in "unknown year" matching the ones i synced, but they're empty so far

You are Selecting the "Sync" not the "Start backup" Correct?

How many albums / asssets?

in my recents album there are ~50k and in the album i'm trying to sync there are about 130

That may be the issue. Currently the mobile app kind of chokes with a large amount of albums. May need a mobile dev to confirm but better synching is currently in the works that would hopefully address scenarios like this

yes it definitely is extremely slow with a lot of photos, but uploads do work eventually maybe it's working and just taking a while for my albums sync

Could be for sure. A heavy focus of the team right now is improvemnts in the mobile app, specifically the sync and snappiness. So more to come in the coming releases.
