Distant horizon eats up all my ram I set, is this normal?
I am using FO modpack with DH installed along with chunky and Noisum. but I noticed that no amount of ram I add is ever good enough. 8gb wasn't good enough so I gave it 10gb, and then that wasn't good enough so I gave it 16gb. still not good enough. it is always nearly maxed out of my ram I set. my system has 64gb total. is this normal behavior for DH? I'm also on Linux but my old windows 11 had the same issue. eventually I'll get an error saying "Minecraft has run out of memory"

The ram usage of DH depends on the thread preset, but using more than 16GB should not really happen.
what is ur launcher? just the default mc launcher or somthing like modrinth or curesforge?
it is normal for minecraft to allocate all the ram you give it (for example 16gb), it means that it will tell that its using 16 gb ram in task manager but in real life minecraft is actually not using that much
but i dont know ur JVM arguments
Im using Prism Launcher. and idk what my JVM arguments are since it just asks what amount of ram I want
my system specs are: i7-14700 and 9070 xt and 64gb ram. i should be able to use DH no problem, right?

it will hit 16gb in some cases but for a moment before going back down. my game will hitch hard when it does. and yeah, this only happens with DH installed. if I were to remove it. this issue goes away. I tried FO modpack on its own as a test, works better. maybe my hardware just isnt up to the task?

DH alone is running fine. better actually, only using 8gb and only going as high as 96% of it. so I assume this means theres a mod conflict or memory leak with the FO modpack?
I hope its not Sodium or iris or both :/ I dont need Sodium per se but Iris.. I want my bsl lol
