The Lemaire aesthetic and alternatives
I apologize if this is a dumb question but I'd like to learn more about the style of Lemaire garments. Their trousers look/fit differently than other brands and I'd like to learn more about why. I know they're a loose cut but I see other trousers made from the same material that are cut in a similar way, and they don't seem to fit or drape the same way that Lemaire's trousers do. Are there any articles to read or videos to watch that would be a good deep dive to explain the fit/style? It really reminds me of the slouchy Armani suits from the late 80s and very early nineties.
Also, are there other brands with a similar aesthetic? I'd like to try the look out but I don't know if I'm ready yet to drop 1k on a single pair of trousers that I don't know if they will look good on me or not.

Lemaire makes a wide range of clothing. Can you post some photos of particular pieces that you're referring to?

Honestly, watch/look at pics of lemaire runway shows.
Uniqlo U for some lemaire-lite options, & keep an eye out on lemaire stockist sites for deep discounts.
Pierre is our resident lemaire beast and has been able to build a really impressive collection for much lower than retail iirc.
I need to spend more time here so I can learn more, I don't know who Pierre is. What's his user name?

I think that the best way to get to know Lemaire is to watch some of their shows.

LEMAIRE | Fall/Winter 2024 Show
The Fall-Winter 2024 collection was presented for the first time at LEMAIRE headquarters in the heart of Le Marais, home to its studio, offices and atelier.

Here are two recent shows that I really like
I find that a lot of people who like Lemaire are also interested in The Row, although that brand is at a very different price point.
And for what it's worth you can find a lot of Lemaire's pants for around $400 or even cheaper if you keep an eye out. Those Maxi Pleated Pants from this season are pretty unpopular and will likely hit sale soon. The Big Work Pants are the same as the Judo Pants from last season which are on sale for ~$500 here: https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/lemaire/black-judo-jeans/16195251
The wool belted pleated pants also hit sale (and come back season after season) but I'm not really a fan of them so I don't keep an eye out.
Thank you, going to watch these this morning
I checked them out, saw some beautiful articles of clothing, and for a split second I hoped that "a very different price point" meant they were a lot cheaper. I was very wrong lol
@Angrymiddleagedjew Those belted pleated pants are on sale for $480 in size 46 at 24s right now btw
