epic game store - Login not possible
I have not been able to login to Epic Store under - Stores for a few months now. Every time I try it says Incorrect response. Please refresh the page. Lutris still works, but I have always prefered to run Epic and GOG games in Heroic. I saw in a different post to try log in / manage accounts screen in heroic and there should be 2 Epic login options. Where is this in the flatpak Heroic version? I am using 2.16.1 I am not finding this.

Its not specifically heroic it may be some issue with your network or isp that makes heroic's connection attempts fail

I am running Heroic 2.16.1 on Fedora - Flatpak
I kept just expecting this problem to get fixed in a patch, but it never did.
Ok trying under Manage Accounts - Epic Alt Login Method - but that does not work either. Also don't think this should be a solve, as many players, like me, will try to login the default way, and then just think it is broken. Even if the second method did work, but for me it also does not work. I copied the authorizationCode with or without the " " and both ways it gives me an Error - Try a different code
I tried like 6 different codes, with and without having the " " around the code. it always says - Error - Try a different code

Works fine here. There are some things you can try, one of these may work
- Disable ipv6
- Use a known good dns like 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8. Your isp may have a bad one.
- Tether your computer to your phone
- Use a vpn with a US endpoint

Which method works fine here? Default which I haven't been able to use for months on several computers, or 2nd method, which i only tried yesterday?
Ok got method 2 to work if i disabled Ipv6 for the computer, and if i removed the " " from the code. Method 1 still does not work, and leaving IPv6 off for my system is not ideal. This is not a FIX. This is still broken. Please fix method 1, or fix it so method 2 will work with IPv6
If the default method 1 does not work then people have to know to try method 2, have to know that they can not use IPv6 which nowadays is the main protocol on the internet, and I would even say that the code should work with either the " " there or without. Since the page displays the code with " " on it that should work.
and correction method 1 works if IPv6 is disabled
so this software just does not function with IPv6
That seems like Network Engineering freshman level issue

For me the default method works on all of my computers no issue.
Connectivity issues are weird because they can have a multitude of failure cases that heroic has no control over as well.
Your isp, network connectivity from you to the login server, epic's servers being misconfigured etc etc .. there are so many reasons it can fail. Mostly I see this error from people in particular countries even.
And then for people like me its worked 100% perfectly every time on every system I use.
So no, its not a freshman network engineering issue.
And yes what arieljuod said, if its an easy fix you are welcome to fix it and submit a pull request

Understand what you are saying... but I have no other connectivity issues with any other programs. I am experiencing this issue on several computers, but given, all are in the same home network, and same ISP. What is special about Heroic that disabling IPv6 on my computer allows it to connect. I guess I can just disable IPv6 when I want to play games on Heroic, and reenable it later.

Just because you dont have other issues doesnt mean that you dont have connection issues.

Like I said there are a lot of points of failure that can happen in your connection to epic's login servers, and many of them you may not have control over.

I disagree, but can't effectively argue. My roommate plays many online games, and I work online... Don't have any other connectivity issues... and this has been an issue over 2 different ISPs
I used to have 1 Gbps with Cox, then switched to ATT fiber
this issue with Heroic persisted with both ISPs
but sure, call it my connectivity issue

the problem with this IPV6 issue is that, for some reason, it does not affect any of the main developers of Heroic, so we can't really reproduce it to do the research to fix it
and the people who do have the problem and says the IPV6 change actually fixed it, have either no development knowledge or no intention to do that research (which is fair, they don't have to)
so nobody knows "what's special about heroic", if we knew we would have already fixed it
I can confirm though that IPV6 can create other issues for other applications and sites:
- a coworker can't connect to github.com through SSH when IPV6 is enabled (in the US)
- another coworker can't connect to the work VPN when IPV6 is enabled (in Portugal)
given that the issue, at least from what I know, can even affect a VPN connection (the provider of the VPN even said to just disable IPV6 for that coworker), I wouldn't say it's a freshman level issue
