Safe way to clear and regenerate all thumbnails?

My server died so have rebuilt, since doing so I have many images showing "Error loading image"
I used the CLI to import my upload folder as I had it backed up, when I go to the jobs section it says active 3 and none waiting.
Is there a way for me to force it to recreate all of the thumbnails?
I would not mind deleting the thumbs folder and running the job again, I just wanted to check that was ok before doing so?
