high server-side CPU usage even when pregen isn't running
Running on Forge 1.20.1, Craft to Exile. Mod seems to work fine, but I go from ~10% usage without server mod, to average 100% with spikes up to 300% and tons of TPS spikes. Pregen is not running.

Are any players with DH connected to the server?
Or without DH?
All player movement will trigger some LOD generation and DH clients will trigger a lot if the world isn’t regenerated
Try reducing the CPU load on the server
Also you can’t use 300% of the CPU
I will assume that means 3 cores are running at 100%
And that isn’t a lot
That is quite a small amount
Yeah 1 player with DH connected standing still. 6 cores connected. Also using linux notation for cpu usage, so yeah 100% = 1 core. Have 6 cores allocated in pterodactyl. And I agree that 300% spikes aren't that uncommon, but that came with major TPS spikes with plent of logs about the server running hundreds of ticks behind, which I only ever saw with DH enabled server side
.
without mod no issues

with mod

I can give the instance more cpu if it needs it, just seems strange that with pregen off the mod is still causing the server to run behind and idle so high
the host thats running the instance is below 20% total usage
the main cpu load on the server right now is this mod lmao
Small unrelated question, which setting in the config file do you have to run to enable / disable pregen?
One user joined and the server starts to choke? What hardware you got for the server?
You can’t disable or enable pregen
You can only run or not run it
It is a command that each admin and the owner can run
Roger, I've figured it out using the wiki now. All good
