dead island 2
hey guys i just installed dead island 2 from epic games using heroic launcher in my ubuntu 24. it starts and then everything turns dark and closes itself. what is happening?

IMPORTANT: Logs are disabled.Enable verbose logs in Game's settings > Advanced tab > 'Enable verbose logs' before reporting an issue. ============= End of log ============= can you turn on verbose logs?

Update GE-Proton. Latest is 10-1. Enable umu by checking and unchecking the disable umu box

i had the same problem. I now use proton GE 8-25 and its working perfectly. Also check and uncheck "disable umu" in parameters, apparently there's an issue with that.

heres the new log file. i also tried proton-8 but same error as DX12 is not supported.

Please post a new log with GE-Proton-latest (10-3) ensure that you’re fully up to date with that

with proton 10. i can't figure out whats happening. this time it opened and closed itself instantaneously

use ge-proton 10.3, not proton 10 (you can install it with the wine manager section of heroic)

ohh i didnt know that. thanks. but again with the latest proton-ge also it didnt work. same problem. is it possible that there can be any misconfiguraiton elsewhere that might be causing the problem??

Check and uncheck the box for disable umu. Yours isn’t being run for some reason
