Will sizing up a size give me that oversized look/fit?
So for example I have always had a more street style. Think like hardcore music scene or metal head type of dressing. A lot of the style in those scenes include oversized Tshirts. I always wore Tshirts my size especially as a fat kid when I would wear larger shirts because I was uncomfortable.
Recently got some shirts in my size I saw at Walmart and didn’t realize they were specifically listed as oversized. As soon as I wore one I fell in love with the look on me and the fit. Now I want to know if I just size up one size would I get the same effect? That oversized fit or do I need to be going for clothing in my size but listed as oversized fit?
Like if I wear XL and for an XXL would I see similar results with the oversized fit?

They unfortunate answer is that it depends because it’s not just the sizing but the proportion of the parts of the clothing that contribute to the overall “look”
I think sizing up is a good general approach to getting there though
Big danger for example is trying to go up sizes on slim fit clothing
I always find that looks terrible
Def look for clothes that are meant to be worn oversize
Ive gotten into that pitfall in the past where I would try to size up on dress shirts to get an oversized look and it would just look horrible
I definitely recommend what shrimp said
So many brands out there that do the wide aesthetic right
There are also lots of freesize brands that have clothes that look great oversize
If there a specific piece you’re looking at sizing up on?
just as some extra details, usually an 'oversized' tee/sweatshirt will a have drop shoulder, wider & longer sleeves, and a boxier fit to sorta emphasize the slouchy silhouette.
A stock tee that fits slimmer won't have the same vibe if u just size up x3-4
