Outfit check... not looking great here
Why does this look bad? I want to go for a more minimal/thrifted look I guess, but my body proportions throw everything off. When I think I have an outfit figured out, it just doesn't look right

i would look into pants with a bigger leg opening to make the shoes look better proportioned
nothing to do with your body, the slim trousers and chunky shoes just throw things off. this was the look for like 2014 but not so much anymore FWIW
proportions aside, more contrast might look better. The shirt and pants are almost the same color
I know you’re going for minimalism but don’t be afraid to have an accessory or 2. Or even change up the apple watch band to something with some color
Do you have pictures of how you’d like to dress?

I do... I need to keep looking around here. A lot of stuff in the waywt looks expiremental/right off the runway, but i also see fits that look like they'd work well on me. I have a pair of chuck 70s that i've never worn but i figure i could wear them with wide cuffed jeans. i just need to find pics for inspo
getting clothes that fit with my awkward proportions has been the bane of my existence for 28 years
My buddy who’s pretty tall and lanky gets most of his stuff MTO from proper cloth these days. He always had issues with his proportions until doing that. It’s a fair bit pricier, but it made the whole thing less of an ordeal once he got the sizes dialed in
There are a lot of clothing styles that mto doesn't work for. The above advice is correct, looking for more inspo rn is the move
