well i broke it, it errors with ERROR_INVALID_EXTERNAL_HANDLEERROR_INVALID_EXTERNAL_HANDLE for both the wlx-capture dmabuf and my custom vulkan one, i did change the way the fd gets sent over dbus, but the value is different between the processes so i assume that is transfering correctly?

well i was running wlx-capture on river and i used wlr_dmabuf, it kinda worked in the past? it didn't complain about a broken handle

we are currently trying to just import a dmabuf into bevy so we can get stardust rewritten to use it
