Favorite source for fashion news and history content

I feel like currently my only source for learning about what designers are/have been doing and seeing trends or collabs in the fashion world is through algorithmic slop. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for outlets to consume fashion content and writing more intentionally. Maybe that’s a good blog or journalist or even a YouTube channel that talks about what big designers are doing or have done. Hell, even some books maybe. I am aware this question is ridiculously broad, but I am up for finding out about lots of niches, so that’s alright.

I yearn for content that I can seek out and not content that is fed to me

i had a similar question - specifically about longform content - and got a lot of good recommendations in the process (the list of things i already consumed is also worthwhile) https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1299343424515739749

if you're interested in specific designers the best thing is to watch their runway shows and read any available show notes; youtube is...decent at having archival runway footage though the quality may not be the greatest

my recs are all designer focused because that's what i care about: - highsnobiety & hypebeast for new releases / upcoming collabs - ssense & archive.pdf for editorials / blog posts - uniformdisplay on ig for fitpics - #inspiration to see what ppl here are fuckin with - #fashion & #fashion-discussion here for anything else

I feel like I don’t know enough designers. I guess I would be interested in sources that are a good place to see the work of a broader pool of designers

id also highly recommend ssense's blog and archive.pdf to see more designers. Both are filled with runway & lookbook pics and will probably be more visually engaging than our brands section here IMO

carrion's recs are also great, i'll add firstview as a secondary reference for runway shows

at least for me, i found it more engaging to discover brands within the context of specific clothing. by looking for big goofy white shirts, i learned about comme des garcons and then junya watanabe and sacai; by looking for big goofy pants, i learned about sillage, etc etc.
