Best server jar for 20 people
Hi. So I'm making a minecraft server (vanilla) and I was researching online and people keep saying to either download purpur or fabric with lithium and phosphor mods.
But most of the posts are 4 years old. What is the best current option? I want to run the most lightweight minecraft server without comprising much (mechanics, render distance, etc.) I want it to run as vanilla as possible.
I usually have 8 GB of RAM free (I plan on upgrading to 64GB from 32GB next month). And my cpu is the 5700X3D. NVME storage.

ohh lol. ty. wont i lose some functions tho? like auto farms and stuff?
on paper, possibly
yes. i ran paper yesterday fine with 3 people
on fabric probably not
guess i'll look into fabric
yeah if you don't have any particular paper plugins you want and you trust your users to not blow up your server, fabric is an option
yeah i guess so. ty. im gonna make multiple backups a day so i'll be fine i think
I will definitely go with fabric if you trust your players
Even if you donβt use mods, fabric w/ lithium and stuff will outperform the vanilla jar without changes to game mechanics
The fabric ecosystem is also catching up. With new additions like grim ac (lightning) being ported over
I was running paper a few years ago. But Iβve been using fabric ever since I first touched it.
You should definitely try fabric out. If that doesnβt work out for your community, then consider paper
if you want to run it run it as vanilla as possible then fabric is ur option
I used to run paper but some farms would break using it
most notably the mushroom glitch to break the end portal, some dupers and bedrock breaking (although u can enable it on config)
ty guys. ended up using these mods with fabric

i set min ram to 2G and max to 6G. hopefully it'll be enough for 10-15 concurrent and 20 max
Iβd give 8g, and set min max to same value
