Red Dead Redemption 2 still crashing after latest update

Hi there! I've been having issues trying to Red Dead Redemption 2 up and running, as of late, even after the last Heroic update to resolve the Rockstar launcher issue. I was hoping the latest update would fix things but it seems too stubborn to resolve. The issue I'm seeing is that as it goes to initialize the game (after skipping the launcher) it shows nothing but a black box for the window briefly, and after a second or two, the window will snap to the lower left corner of my screen before crashing completely, poof. I've been switching between different Proton versions to see if maybe it was an issue with a prefix but they all seem to behave mostly the same. If anyone can glean something from the logs and get me pointed in the right direction, please do, I'm dying to play my cowboy simulator T~T

you shouldn't use both the fix.bat alternative exe and the USE_FAKE_EPIC_EXE env variable, remove the fix.bat alternative exe

Removed the fix.bat, though it still seems to be behaving the same way even with the env variable set and no fix.bat as the exe.

try deleting the prefix so a new one is created now that you don't have the 2 conflicting settings /run/media/stabbykinz/Game Vault/Heroic/Prefixes/Red Dead Redemption 2 also uncheck the ignore game updates option just in case

No dice, even after deleting the prefix and unchecking ignore game updates. @~@ The game is still exhibiting the same behavior One thing I did notice as the prefix was trying to install DirectX was that it errored out saying 'Unable to install prerequisites'. Could that be what's causing it?

that's common, I also get the errors installing prerequisites and re-trying works just fine
