Question Regarding Billing Plan/Specs.

Hello admincraft! Im sorta new to server hosting. I've been running a modded 1.20.1 Fabric server with my friends (most of the time we are less than 10) recently with a couple "heavy" mods (mostly Create and Valkyrien Skies 2/Eureka) and things have been going MOSTLY smoothly. I've preloaded some chunks, installed some server side optimization mods. Everything's going...kinda smooth. My question is as follows: Im paying around 25$ for the PebbleHost budget 25GB host (Intel i9-9900k @ 5GHz / Ryzen 5700X @ 4.6GHz CPU). Should I for around the same price upgrade to the Premium option but less GBs (so i would be going down to 10GBs but Ryzen 7900 @ 3.7 / 5.4Ghz CPU). I've done my fair share of homework and that CPU seems to be one of the better ones for hosting, and maybe i went a bit overboard with 25GBs. Thanks for your time and help!

I use the 7900 for my server and I would highly recommend Would go for the faster cpu 10gb is plenty for that amount of players

realistically, you can probably get by with even 6gb or 8gb of ram. You can check your memory usage by installing spark and running /spark healthsummary. Don’t use the panel’s memory usage chart as an indicator of how much memory your server needs because of the nature of Java’s memory system, you’ll normally see the panel display much higher memory usage than what would be required to run the server

Ok, i.understood. Is having way too much ram detrimental to the server?

if you have too much, it can make garbage collection slower although, too much ram is more detrimental to your pocket
