Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam Deck issues
I've installed BG3 via Heroic Launcher, even did a hard reset of all data, and I still can't get it to launch. Please see log files for details

Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton:
1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "GE-Proton" tab, and install "GE-Proton-Latest"
2. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - GE-Proton-latest"
3. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from
current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings.
Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.rare-sapphire•2w ago

I am close to just trying a hard reset of the steam deck entirely and trying heroic launcher from scratch 😦

the game log itself isn't populating with anything, including pre-run stuff such as protonfixes from umu. rather than hard reset the Deck, there are more targeted things you can do
you can reinstall Heroic by running
flatpak install --reinstall com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl
then if that still doesn't work, you can reset the config folder by deleting or renaming ~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hglhelpful-purple•6d ago
I'm having a similar issue but BG3 launches only in Desktop Mode. Other GOG games run fine.
