is it fair to switch
[2021-03-18 08:43:31 PM] : is it fair to switch a "How can I " to "Should I " type question for e-bombs? I saw a few instances of people going "how do I automate onboarding" ... and, you know, the first thing they should be asking is "Should I" and "How do I know I'm ready" . ARGH am I overthinking this?

[2021-03-18 08:47:58 PM] : uh. It's possible I'm just running into vendors a lot, too. Time to rethink watering holes probably...
[2021-03-18 09:05:12 PM] : why?
[2021-03-18 09:18:54 PM] : everywhere I go except for RLS (Rands leadership slack) , it seems to be full of vendors self promoting :/ I am not really sure the questions are even legit at this point.
[2021-03-18 09:20:42 PM] : i wouldn't be so quick to write off a watering hole, but instead focus on the signal you can find.
[2021-03-18 09:21:36 PM] : or if those vendors are talking about certain themes/keywords, note what they're talking about! include that it was from a vendor in your safari notes, but avoid throwing away data
[2021-03-18 09:22:17 PM] : AHHH !!! lol it sounds so obvious that I shouldn't discard that data... and yet... :face_palm: I didn't think of that
[2021-03-18 09:22:21 PM] : remember that safari is looking for and taking notes about what's there, not looking for what you're looking for.
[2021-03-18 09:22:27 PM] : there ya go
[2021-03-18 09:22:36 PM] : data is data.
