Trouble to launch Steam

Hi, I didn’t know about Heroic until a few minutes ago. I’m trying to play a Windows Steam game on my Mac (M1, not Intel). I added Steam using the dedicated button, but when I click the button to launch Steam, nothing happens. Is that normal ? Is there an extra step I need to do ? Thanks for the help !

it looks like you are using whisky, use the game porting toolkit instead, whisky is not maintained anymore

on the sidebar go to Wine Manager and then download gaming porting toolkit 2.1 after it gets downloaded and extracted, go to the steam page in heroic > settings > wine version change it to GPTK

HI, Download and install the wine crossover 23.7-1 and DXVK will be in there. I would recommend having both Whisky and Crossover wine versions as some games will work with Whisky wine and some will work with Crossover wine. Whisky had a fix to the steam not running problem, which can be found here https://docs.getwhisky.app/steam.html I 've been running Steam in whisky using this fix for months. Can't guarantee this will fix the issue in heroic. Heroic's developers might have fix this issue. I personally have not tested steam in heroic. The Whisky fix might help the Heroic version of steam to work, no harm in trying.

thank you i can open steam now, but after i download my game (F1 Manager 24), i cannot open it ? do you have some tips or recommendations ?

may or may not help, but I used d3dmetal and msync on and got really good fps. though this was on the epic games version of the game, see if that works, and also send the logs so people that actually know what they're talking about can help u lol
