Decide ahead of time if you have a minimum number of pre-sales in mind, and whether you want to refund the orders if you don’t reach that number...I'm launching ticket sales for my first paid workshop on Thursday this week. All going well, I'll be working on creating the workshop material and exercises over the following two weeks, then running it on Dec 2nd and 7th. I'm capping each workshop session at 10 seats, but I'm trying to figure out a minimum number of ticket sales that I want to hit overall. I don't think it's worth putting in a ton of work putting the workshop together if only 2 people buy tickets, for example  [2021-11-15 01:00:27 PM] : Have you found a way to quantify what that minimum number of pre-sales should be for your products in the past? [2021-11-15 01:01:52 PM] : For context the ticket price point will be around $250 / £180, and the live workshop will run for 4 hours [2021-11-22 03:36:58 PM] : Late to the party, but I have a course that I did a small bit of preorders for and it has lead to similar issues. The first few emails asking, "How is X coming?" are fine, but after a while these start to wear on you. Every time you respond to one it feels like you are letting someone down. Over time it pushed me to communicate less and less, leading to fewer launches, fewer ebombs, etc. It had a real, negative impact on literally everything else I was doing because I knew any email I sent out would inevitably lead to, "What about that thing I pre-ordered?" emails. One way to avoid this is being very proactive with communication, even if you have to send update emails that say, "Nothing new to report, sorry." but this can only go so far. I personally had some burnout and personal issues to deal with and that further exacerbated the issue.
