I decided to record

[2021-11-16 04:22:56 AM] : I decided to record the second workshop and am really pleased I did as I can now choose to either sell that on its own merits or bundle it into the course I'm building (to create a higher tier).

[2021-11-16 08:01:40 AM] : I'm definitely planning to do this too! I'm guessing I'll need to make it clear to everyone attending that it's being recorded — I do worry about that affecting people interacting e.g. unmuting themselves and asking questions. [2021-11-16 10:22:00 AM] : Yeah this is an interesting one. In the end I recorded the session locally, so no footage of the attendees or myself actually, just what I was sharing. So it's ended up much like the 30x500 videos, just something on screen and me talking about it. I didn't feel any particular need to let people know I was recording it in this case as their voices/video aren't included in the recording. [2021-11-16 10:22:36 AM] : Then I just edited out the Q and A at the end (which didn't really work as, on the recording, you can't hear the person asking questions!) [2021-11-16 10:23:18 AM] : I was using OBS to switch between slides, code etc. so recorded everything using that, [2021-11-16 10:29:51 AM] : Ooh, interesting! Was that OBS into Zoom? [2021-11-17 09:40:01 AM] : Yeah. So I didn't bother bringing Zoom back into OBS (that bit fries my head when I start to think about it!) but NDI to take the output from OBS and expose it as a 'webcam' (for some reason the native option to do that from OBS seemed to be lower quality). Then I used Zoom's ability to share 'Content from 2nd Camera' to display that as well as me to participants. [2021-11-17 03:59:05 PM] : I installed the NDI tools from here: https://ndi.tv/tools/ then set up the NDI tools plugin for OBS (https://github.com/Palakis/obs-ndi/releases). Effectively it's then possible to take the NDI output from OBS, run an NDI tool called Webcam input and make that OBS stream available as a 'camera' (which you can then select in Zoom) [2021-11-18 04:42:22 AM] : That's really cool - thanks for sharing it
