Good stuff in the co

[2022-02-08 10:11:43 PM] : Good stuff in the comments:point_up: but meta lesson: "my gut" and "my assumption" is a great clue that you can ask yourself "where's the evidence that is true?" along with "where is the evidence that the opposite is true?" Then use the evidence to make a decision. Gut instincts are only as useful as the evidence-based training your gut has been through.

[2022-02-09 03:26:30 AM] : This is a great reminder. I think this is the most vital habit I want to build this year. Become aware of my assumptions, turn them into hypotheses and do research. Becoming aware that this is only an assumption should not slow me down and demoralise me. Like you’ve said: That doesn’t mean it’s not true. You don’t know [2022-02-09 08:36:31 AM] : Bingo! Learning you were wrong is great too, it means you get to grow and learn. [2022-02-09 09:59:20 AM] : one example of this "gut" thing from a couple of years ago -- for some reason i was convinced that I couldn't sell my print zines if I priced them at <the existing price for the PDF zines + the cost to print them>. I really felt this but it turns out it was not true, literally nobody has ever complained to me about the price and people definitely buy them. [2022-02-09 11:13:42 AM] :  [2022-02-09 11:14:12 AM] : i've learned that my gut isn't always wrong, but it's ALSO not always as trustworthy as I'd like to think
