[2022-04-21 04:33:15 AM] : On my safari research I noticed quite a lot of people complaining about how things go wrong when moving from a dev environment into production. I know this could be fixed using docker. [2022-04-21 04:34:12 AM] : I have an email sequence automatically being sent to my new subscribers. I built it based on my top 5 all-time best-received emails. [2022-04-21 04:34:58 AM] : One of them particularly addresses this issue. Subject is "I swear it worked in my PC!". [2022-04-21 04:36:09 AM] : One recent subscriber replied telling me he believes this email is outdated since docker solves this issues. My reply was "yes, that's true, but does everybody know that? And even if they do, do the know how to put that in practice?" [2022-04-21 04:36:28 AM] : So the idea of doing this workshop started forming in my head [2022-04-21 04:37:46 AM] : I put together a 1 page outline of what the workshop would entail and just sent a tweet out to get a sense of how many people could be interested and also scheduled an email to my list with the same goal. [2022-04-21 04:37:54 AM] : Any suggestion? [2022-04-21 07:25:53 AM] : Nice! What kind of suggestions are you looking for? [2022-04-21 07:48:08 AM] : He... good question :slightly_smiling_face:. I guess I'm looking for suggestion on how to do the launch. Things to do and don't do. In the past I haven't had much success with this kind of iniciatives so I'm trying to minimize the amount of work I'll put upfront. I'll be revisiting the part of the course about launche sequences and try to stick to it as much as possible. [2022-04-21 08:15:45 AM] : Yeah I was gonna say, the suggestions are to use the lessons as closely as you can and ask for feedback on your work as you do it! • you came up with a workshop, which is cool, but you might wanna give a proper fixstorming a crack to help make sure your pain is crispy! • Start your landing page with bullets if gold before you jump to copywriting • Revisit the launch lessons for sure. [2022-04-21 08:16:58 AM] : Best suggestions will come from reviewing your work. Doesn't need to be fancy or perfect. [2022-04-21 08:17:37 AM] : Only other recommendation is doing a backwards plan so you can visualize and internalize all of the parts that you have to do and create, and in what order. [2022-04-21 09:32:28 AM] : Great. Thanks... I was kind of jumping into build-mode... I'll have to tie my hands a little I guess, hehehe [2022-04-21 09:32:59 AM] : Judging by the twitter response I got I think it makes sense to go for it [2022-04-21 09:42:59 AM] : twitter response is a great positive signal, but doesn't help you if you skip the other parts that actually make a product launch work. [2022-04-21 10:29:10 AM] : Yes, you're definitely right about that... been there, done that :stuck_out_tongue: [2022-04-21 10:30:08 AM] : Anyway, I just asked, privately, all the people who raised their hands what is their motivation to take this workshop. If anything it should help with some crispiness for the landing page [2022-04-21 11:53:59 AM] : sweet, interested to see what you learn! [2022-04-21 11:54:46 AM] : Oh yes... it's being super interesting to see the (few) answers... things I'd never have thought of myself [2022-04-21 11:55:40 AM] : It's funny. I know why people should want to learn docker but the input I'm getting is really different from my own thoughts [2022-04-21 11:56:35 AM] : The very fact that so many people reacted positively to this little poll has spawned a new safari topic for me. Already finding interesting things [2022-04-21 11:56:49 AM] : It feels nice to be back in action :slightly_smiling_face: [2022-04-21 11:57:42 AM] : excellent  [2022-04-22 03:08:51 AM] : Ok, I'm going to use this thread to share my progress and dump my thoughts. So far I got about 28 people reply to my twit with some form of hand raising and about 30 new followers and 100 RTs. I reached out to each of the 28 privately to digg a little deeper on their motivations. I have to say, I didn't get a very clear idea... which makes me think I suck at interviewing people :stuck_out_tongue:. At first I was asking them why they want to learn about docker, then I switched to a more suitle version of the question: "What do you hope to accomplish as a result of this workshop?" and my current version: "Have you tried docker before?" (The idea of this last one is to open with a simple ice-breaker and try to work my way into the underlying motivation). The good part is I'm getting safari material. What I'm trying to be cautious about is the fact I didn't mention it's going to be a paid thing so I'm quite skeptical about how many of this interested people are interested enough to actually put money down. So now... it's safari time :slightly_smiling_face: [2022-04-22 09:25:41 AM] : Definitely a positive change. By opening with a less direct question I'm getting much more interesting data! Amazing how we humans work hahaha
