On the topic of audi

[2022-10-19 07:04:42 PM] : On the topic of audience selection, here's a question: If we're planning on playing with the intersection of two audiences (for instance, a two-sided marketplace connecting Audience X with Audience Y), is it still necessary that both audiences fit the 4 criteria of a 30x500 audience (hang out together online, buys based on value, is one that I already belong to or serve, and include the 3 subcategories of peers, newbs, and clients.) I'm planning on going through the Sales Safari process for both audiences. Is there any other part of the process that should be treated differently when thinking about the intersection of two different audiences?

[2022-10-19 07:07:20 PM] : Maybe I'm getting too far ahead of myself and over-complicating things, but should there then be 2 different blogs, with 2 different mailing lists? Or can all of the ebomb work be done in the same place? [2022-10-19 07:10:43 PM] : I've searched for jobs and I've been involved in hiring, and I feel like the educational resources I'd have benefited from each in case would be pretty different [2022-10-19 07:13:56 PM] : could be on the same website, but a reasonable information archiecture would probably separate them to different parts of the website, at least for this example [2022-10-19 07:48:03 PM] : i think it would be smoother sailing if both audiences fit the criteria. building a marketplace feels like hard mode for sure, stack whatever advantages you can find  i agree about probably splitting the blog into categories, or maybe just tagging posts by type. I don’t think it would hurt much to have one big Blog Archive page that lists everything. And i would definitely keep it all on the same site if i could. SEO for 1 site is hard enough, and concentrating all of the content under 1 domain would probably make it easier than splitting it up. I’d probably start with 1 mailing list and tag people based on which side they’re on. [2022-10-19 07:51:36 PM] : Appreciate the input! I'm 100% sure one of the audiences fits the criteria, and about 90% sure the other one does, so I guess that's what the Sales Safari process will help me with! I'll see if I can hook up the mailing list CTA at the footer of the blog post template to have a specific tag based on what article the user was reading. Not sure if my integrations get complex enough for that, but I can poke around. I'll see if I can organize the main blog homepage into the 2 different categories. Maybe sub-home pages for each one? Not sure how that affects SEO at all [2022-10-19 07:54:05 PM] : yeah i’m not sure either. tbh I mostly ignored SEO, and with enough good ebombs (written using the words they’re using from Safari etc) it kinda takes care of itself [2022-10-20 11:11:58 AM] : Aprilynne Alter how far down the road are you with this two sided marketplace? are you already more "embedded" or connected with one side than the other? [2022-10-20 01:45:28 PM] : alex I've been working on the intersection on and off for about a year and a half now. I'm probably more "embedded" in the "hard" (paying) side, but that's only because I've spent more effort on that side. I have good connections into the other "easy" (non-paying) side, but haven't spent as much time there yet.
