It wasn't until I got to the end that I realised the importance of various earlier sections and then went back to revisit. It is all there to be honest, but was just the way my brain was working. The pick an audience "issue" was certainly a thing for me in terms of blocking progress. I've since wondered if there was a way to sandbox that a bit more than you do - in order to enable progress on the course to remain smooth and giving you a chance to practise all the skills? For example if you gave us an audience and pointed us to some real active watering holes, then got us to do all the safari skills, write a few blog posts (or at least titles ), collate some pain-dream couplets and then work through some fix-storming and pitch writing and so on, we get an earlier idea of the end to end process. The current approach is understandable - as you can feel you are investing in your real audience from the outset - but in effect this means you learning on the job. I wonder if that perhaps puts people off progressing as it can feel very public very soon - an as a result people might over think each step ("do I want to serve this audience", "do I know enough about this subject", "can I even find this audience online" etc) - which slows progress. I certainly did. Dunno - just trying to help from my own experience, having had now 3 audiences - and working on a 4th in the new year! - I wonder if that might help people get a little bit more confident with the process sooner, and therefore make more progress with their own audience faster, when they start. Yes having the domain knowledge to help someone and learn about your audience is a key asset in your favour, but I wonder if you can decouple the need for audience selection and progress on the course. :man-shrugging:
