Hi everyone! Did any

[2022-12-22 05:25:48 AM] : Hi everyone! Did any of you try to do a mentoring product - either as on demand sessions or bundled as a set number of hours of a month? How did it go? Any takeaways?

[2022-12-27 02:02:37 PM] : So the full context is that I would like to setup a temporary revenue stream that I can spend a couple of hours on each week while I work full time on the 30x500 process. I thought of paid mentoring as a good way to do this. I tried using mentoring platforms like codementor for a while but it was difficult to find mentees against the competition from other mentors. So now I'm playing around with the idea of going at it on my own and marketing it through my blog. I know that it is not scalable and I probably won't do it long term. But I see it as something that can be set up fast and can be sold straight away to help me slow the rate at which I'm burning through my savings. I felt like asking about it here to see if anyone else has tried it. I haven't seen mentoring sold on blogs yet which makes me think that it didn't work out for the people who tried it - so wanted to hear if anyone tried it and see if this idea is workable or not. [2022-12-27 02:04:49 PM] : It’s definitely something people sell on their own sites and newsletters! [2022-12-27 02:07:08 PM] : Good thinking to start shipping something early and fast. If nothing else it’s good practice for applying the rest of the 30x500 process too, since it’s just another format of delivering fixes. [2022-12-27 02:11:39 PM] : The same fundamentals apply to selling coaching as any other product: • you’ve gotta reach people who have a challenge they want solved and are willing to pay (Safari) • You’ve gotta earn their trust that you’re able to help them (ebombs) • make it clear why they’d want to buy (PDF + launch formulas) [2022-12-27 02:13:28 PM] : Since most coaching is at least semi-bespoke, it tends to be an easier sell than many other kinds of products. So you’ve got wiggle room to experiment. But it’s low effort to try it yourself, so there’s really no risk! [2022-12-27 02:19:59 PM] : Thanks alex ! - I'm primarily focused on safari and writing eBombs now but I will work my way through the rest of the course and creating the landing page for the coaching alongside it :muscle: [2022-12-31 04:54:28 AM] : I have done mentoring/consulting. I didn't specifically set out to market the service but people offering to pay for help was a by-product of me participating in watering holes. I eventually stopped doing it as I couldn't come up with a comfortable way of dealing with "quick questions" from people who had already paid me for initial help.
