[2023-04-16 01:22:14 PM] : for one, i just got back from france. before going i contacted the organizer of a local meetup to see if i could speak. they said yes and i went and did it. the attendance was pretty big, and people told me that the reason it was so big was because of me. and a lot of people came up to me before or after the talk and wanted to meet me because they knew of me from online. it was somewhat surreal. and also, the event organizer got up before the meetup started and talked about all the positive trickle-down effects that my coming to the meetup had had…or at least that’s what i was made to understand. this part was all in french :joy:
