Am I going too wide
[2023-06-27 11:49:14 PM] : Am I going too wide on my audience?
The audience I set out for is No-code developers but have found that the most useful no-code developers watering-holes to be in the specific tools such as Webflow, Airtable and Notion.
Safari’ing these spots has be incredibly useful but I feel like it could be good to narrow my audience to one of the tools in particular vs the wider audience?
Love to here from other’s experiences here, seems like a common challenge

[2023-06-28 02:33:10 AM] : not a direct answer, but to share some experience. about a year back i targeted notion users (but not with 30x500 yet) and there's plenty of creators there creating businesses. seems like a large space to do stuff. well i created my product and actually managed to get a whole bunch of users, which all disappeared eventually (pretty fast actually). some time after abandoning the project i went to check what the space is up to - a lot of the players had quit also. in fact there was a "perfect" product that i thought i would make that addresses a serious shortcoming in notion, but it was already made - even this one had closed down.
[2023-06-28 02:34:13 AM] : all in all there are very few products making any money (like the website maker and maybe templates). and the way to make money there really is to become a notion ebassador or whatever that is, which is basically a coach that helps a company set the thing up. so freelancing more or less.
[2023-06-28 02:35:37 AM] : i would guess (now by 30x500 standards) that you should aim at a profession instead of a tool. like Notion Embasssador could actually be legit (but there are like 1000 total). but better is if you think of a startup using airtable (or whatever) then figure out who is the person in the company using it in the first place.
[2023-06-28 10:08:43 AM] : it's tough to say with the amount of info provided, it sounds like you're looking for an "is this okay?" type answer. my response would be:
what's the downside of trying and seeing how your safari results change? do they present more opportunities to create and share ebombs? do you find more relevant "clusters" of related pains and challenges? or do you find fewer? or something else?
try thinking of "narrowing" as a technique, instead of a choice. use it to explore, rather than box yourself in.
go narrow, see what you learn and what seems to be different. then zoom back out and see how things look different with the new insights you've gained.
the key in all cases would be to be shipping ebombs at ALL levels so you can earn trust through participating and helping, while also noticing what resonates (and what doesn't).
have you been creating ebombs with what you learn from Safari yet?

I’m definitely falling for overthinking it before even giving it a proper go! Just got to the section on finding 10 potential eBomb topics

[2023-06-28 06:44:07 PM] : you can do most of the stuff in 30x500 90% "wrong" and as long as you are more focused on the audience than yourself, you'll make more progress than doing nothing!
