[2023-07-08 09:03:51 AM] : it’s been a while since I had a welcome email enabled (this one was from 2016!) but i used to get a good response rate around 15% with it.
It might be worth experimenting with taking out the request about contacts/primary tab/safe senders list. Otherwise you’ve got 2 “asks” there (1. add to contacts, 2. plz reply) and the first one would be enough of a context switch that they might totally forget to come back and reply even if they were planning on it. They might/probably have to close the email to do it, too. [File hidden by Slack limit]
[2023-07-08 11:10:43 AM] : I do the contact ask on the subscribe page of my website, because by the time they've found the email they already know whether or not it's going to end up in spam
[2023-07-08 09:40:34 PM] : "what's your main struggle" assumes they know what their main struggle is, AND you're asking them to do your job for you!
If you're doing safari, you should know what some leading pains are. Ask about those! people expand on those issues OR they tell you "it's not that, it's this other thing!"
[2023-07-12 04:28:55 PM] : Kind of an aside: I like how dceddia includes the phrase
(I read every one)
.
I think it both alludes to the truth (yes this is automated) but also to the real human who will see and wants to read the response.
I’m very mindful of such phrasing as I consider my own automated emails in the future.
