Confession time: As

[2023-09-05 06:34:47 AM] : Confession time: As a software engineer, it’s really hard to snap out of the “it could be automated” mindset. I was just going through the keywords and themes gathering lessons and at the part where it mentions how an automated tool would pick up only words and not phrases my mind went “Hm … what if …” and then like 3 seconds later I found myself searching “word vs phrase embeddings in LLMs”. I stopped a moment later when a wikipedia article loaded and like a junkie putting the needle back I closed the tabs …

[2023-09-05 08:43:01 AM] : LMMs won't study your audience for you  [2023-09-05 09:31:28 AM] : Definitely. Ironically even more with Machine Learning than with “simpler” automation. Even if it worked great it would only be useful as a time saving tool once you already understand your audience well enough to confidently sanity check its results. [2023-09-05 01:15:36 PM] : I will also share that I feel like, in the coming years, authentic connections will gain even more value as the world tries to automate everything. Embrace the slow and small. Be real. [2023-09-06 10:59:46 AM] : I agree with Mike Zornek, I have wondered if software and other digital products will be labeled as “hand crafted” (as opposed to AI generated) to show authenticity. Similar to how fine gourmet food differentiates from highly processed food. [2023-09-06 12:26:54 PM] : Agree. I think with all human activity AI will raise the bar for human effort because doing a poor job will mean you’re worse than AI. So yes, poor quality work will be worth less or nothing. But the flip side is that work that’s above the bar becomes even more valuable. [2023-09-06 06:34:18 PM] : I don’t know who your audience is, but for me I’ve found (since I am also a member of my audience) I stumble across pains from others during safari that I experience myself. At first I thought your post was a “pitch critique” but then I realized it wasn’t posted in that chan. [2023-09-07 02:46:59 AM] : No, I’m just working my way through the course. For the audience I’ve picked “Ruby Developers” and I belong to it and I definitely see a lot of familiar pain.
