what do we think abo

[2024-01-17 01:50:41 AM] : what do we think about writing ebombs as linkedin articles instead of setting up a blog site? It looks like you can even do a newsletter there. It just seems like there's a natural reach there, and I've been reading about things like zero click marketing, so it might be better than writing a blog post and then sharing it on your social networks...

[2024-01-17 06:49:34 AM] : I’ve taken to adding articles from my site to LinkedIn as part of my distribution process. I would never not want to have my articles in a place I own because LinkedIn (and Medium etc) can change the rules at any time. Far better to own my own distribution. [2024-01-17 08:08:52 AM] : there's a lot of value in teaching where people are rather than where you want them to be, but I'd consider posting on linkedin to be more "watering hole participation" rather than the ideal source of your ebombs I tweet a lot as a primary communication method and then my blog is secondary, often using the conversations I get into on twitter as a safari source But I still like to have my own blog and mailing list where I keep everything big, and I get a lot of value from sharing that onto twitter and seeing the conversations that develop https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3Ajacobmparis%20jacobparis.com&src=typed_query [2024-01-17 10:57:53 AM] : What Jacob Paris said is spot on! [2024-01-17 11:01:07 AM] : to my knowledge, Linkedin Newsletters aren't "real newsletters" in that they are trapped inside the platform. and like peterbowen said, that's a LOT of platform risk when these sites change their priorities all the time, so we VERY STRONGLY recommend owning your site and list and using the platforms for watering hole participation that helps people find their way back to you. [2024-01-17 11:01:58 AM] : linkedin almost certainly optimizes "native" content for reach, especially now that they're promoting these features so hard, but your ultimate goal is to have a direct relationship that you control and email is the best for that! [2024-01-17 01:48:29 PM] : awesome, thank you everyone for all the input!
