[2024-02-13 01:51:34 PM] : it varies, but e.g. today's article took... 3 hours? [2024-02-13 01:52:05 PM] : but that's having come up with the idea earlier, and after years of writing articles [2024-02-13 01:52:32 PM] : did a software project recently that was effectively an e-bomb and that took a few days [2024-02-13 02:01:25 PM] : My first few ebombs took waay too long: 14-18 hours. I was spending unnecessary time revising it with very diminishing returns for at least half of the time invested. I’ve now published 13 ebombs and last several were 3-9 hours with the 9 hours including 4 hours researching the topic because it was partially new to me as well. Honestly, I got the writing time down mostly by getting to terms with my natural inclination to perfectionism not producing any extra value here (my articles were really not much better for the extra time invested) :see_no_evil: [2024-02-13 02:20:14 PM] : very insightful! I can relate to that. [2024-02-13 05:43:44 PM] : I generally spend around 3-4 hours per ebomb if it's an article, but I'm still pretty new to this game. I try to scope things down - if I feel like I'm going to need 3,000 words to discuss what I want to write about, then I'm not getting specific enough. Getting more specific -> shorter answer -> less time to write. [2024-02-13 05:44:16 PM] : (also, generally better targeted for long-tail keywords too, as a happy side effect) [2024-02-13 09:13:13 PM] : For articles (ebomb or otherwise), I tend to spend somewhere between 2-4 hours. I had to make peace with the idea that some things just need to exist; my ebombs don't need to be perfect, and if I need to change something I can always go back and make changes. But first they need to actually exist and be published so people can read them.
