Hey all, wondering i
[2024-03-10 08:52:57 PM] : Hey all, wondering if anyone has had any experience in launching their product biz whilst also caring for young children?
I’ve got a 3.5 year old and another little one due in July :baby:
One thing I’ve noticed with having kids is that I often lament the hours that I wasted back in the day and have to chuckle when I think back on how “busy” I thought I was back then, at least compared to now.
Haha can anyone relate?

[2024-03-11 02:40:42 AM] : I can totally relate. I’ve got a five year old and both me and my wife sometimes wonder what the hell we did with all the time we had before.
And also, like you said, procrastination became much less of a problem now that whenever I procrastinate I feel like I’m stealing time from spending time with my son.
[2024-03-11 02:43:46 AM] : Unfortunately, I don’t have a good answer, I’ve only really picked up working on 30x500 when I took an extended break between jobs, 5 months ago. I was finding it very hard to do with a demanding full time day job.
[2024-03-11 09:14:45 AM] : Yep exactly~
I’ll have to figure out a schedule to accomplish this with work, even if it’s slow and steady :turtle:
[2024-03-11 11:05:57 AM] : i can't give specific guidance as I'm not a parent, but:
Positive (?) side effect: it forces me to ruthlessly prioritize because I’m on the clockthis is absolutely the best outlook. [2024-03-11 11:06:46 AM] : slow and steady works, and the key being that every time you sit down to work you're doing something that is pointed in the right direction. [2024-03-11 11:07:35 AM] : which is exactly what the 30x500 process is specifically designed around! making sure that you're making decisions and taking actions based on evidence, rather than pure guessing. [2024-03-11 12:22:41 PM] : Nice nice~ that’s really motivating to read! [2024-03-11 02:42:49 PM] : I'd say the hardest part besides being diligent and consistent with your time is trusting the process. Early stages can feel slow, and sometimes limited feedback makes it feel like it's not working. If you feel that way, it's always good to drop a note here in the Slack for some feedback or affirmations, or help diagnosing what other adjustments you can make. [2024-03-11 02:48:12 PM] : Makes sense Alex, tyty! [2024-03-12 04:35:12 AM] : I'd second this - "Better to walk in the right direction, than run in the wrong one" The lack of short term feedback I found - still find tbh! - hard. It can feel like building an oil tanker sometimes - when you don't know what its meant to look like. One thing that you might think about davidsj.ko is that you can get reps in with this stuff pretty much everywhere in life. Your kids can teach you a lot about pain dream fix. They are like your audience, unchecked. Identify their issues, imagine their dream scenario, then work out a fix you can reasonably achieve. Launch. Analyse your feedback. Repeat. Your audience is for sure analogous to a child you can help and support, and that will give you a lot of value in return when you get it right. [2024-03-12 02:30:22 PM] : Samir hmmm this is a pretty interesting take! Will have to reflect on this one, thanks! [2024-03-12 02:31:45 PM] : SUCH a good take. Gonna save this for the future when folks ask (with credit of course!) [2024-03-12 02:43:10 PM] : You're welcome alex I do have kids so have some perspective on this! :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:
