Login manager boot looping, cant access gui after restart

I decided to restart my computer because it was freezing up, and now i cant log into the gui because it flashes on screen for half a second and goes to a black screen with an input box that doesnt do anything
Solution
cause: my home directory /home/main was completely full, and a bug/misuse in a program i was using caused the major space hog.
solution: i cleared out a bunch of files on my main drive and everything was back to normal, my system now boots and works just fine.
the easiest way to find what is using your storage is with an app called disk usage analyser(gnome codename: baobab), if you cant boot to a gui then just use the terminal to go to your downloads folder or something and delete some stuff, you dont need very much free space to be able to turn your computer on.
