half sleeve button downs
i went to the store to try on shirt sizes and i found that i liked the way that slightly oversized button down half sleeve shirts looked on me (when tucked). has anyone else tried this? do people think it looks nice? any inspiration pictures to draw from? thanks in advance for any help
also any recommendations for such shirts welcome!

fairly trendy look currently but also historically big in japanese “city boy” and avant garde fashion (cdg, yohji, etc) if you want more stuff to google
iirc a&f and uniqlo are carrying them so there are probably a lot of contemporary inspo sources

I wouldnt limit yourself to just half sleeve inspo. Frankly most oversized long or short sleeve button down tucked/cropped inspo could probably work to help you develop a style with it
if you're feeling up to it, go through waywt, inspiration, and waywt highlights and find some stuff and copy and paste it here
its so common in waywt i dont feel like I even need to link you to any users 🙂

Yeah in retrospect this may have been a step too far
I have some brainworms that come out a bit too often
i misspoke earlier, i think i bought short sleeve shirts that were oversized and not half sleeved shirts
i didn’t realize half sleeves were even a thing
but the other commenter was right it is a very common japanese thing seems like
they do it with tshirts a lot from what i can tell
Yeah half sleeves are a thing. 3/4 sleeves are also a rarer thing

Look for 5分袖 or 7分袖, lots of inspiration to choose from.
i like the 3/4ths look. i think some pieces have a pretty delicate look to them which isn’t what i was initially looking for but it’s interesting
i don’t really like the thin over shirts on untucked base layer that a lot of them are rocking

also any shirt brands that are kinda boxy from the top and have a fluid/comfortable (not itchy or hard) material, that are under 100$ :)
boxy and fluid seems kinda contradictory but idk how to explain it
