rocket league freezing steam deck
ive uninstalled heroic and rocket league ive reinstalled updated and changed compat layers. everytime i start it. it takes 5 mins to launch into a blackscreen that freexes if closed a certain way.

Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton:
1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "GE-Proton" tab, and install "GE-Proton-Latest"
2. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - GE-Proton-latest"
3. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from
current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings.
Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.rival-blackOP•4mo ago

the folder on the left is the only one that needed to be renamed

When I renamed it it made I new folder called rocketleague without the _bak

are you running Heroic from game mode or the Rocket League shortcut created by Heroic from game mode?

I'm running it in game mode from the heroic app I downloaded the discover store and added to steam. It's worked fine up until the steam update.

it isn't recommended to launch the Heroic app in game mode
go into desktop mode, go to the game in the library, click the ... menu and then Add to Steam

Even when launching it in computer mode it still freezes

I stopped launching in desktop mode because the only way to get it work again after freezing would be to hard power reset. And when ut did run trying rl in desktop mode the controls didn't work for me

Bind the Super/Win key to one of the back buttons
Or hold Start to switch to gamepad mode
