trousers
is there a guide available for different types of trousers and what brands are good for each type? i only have one pair of nice non cargo pants/non jeans, and i just started work at an office, think im gonna need more of them over time. how much do people typically spend for a pair?

not really! spend per pair varies on the individual. Some ppl won't blink at $500+, other people refuse to go higher than $100, even more people hunt for $25 grails secondhand.
You can get an idea for what's out there by just browsing tho. Pulling up uniqlos site, for example, will show you all sorts of cuts & styles, and will generally be on the lower end of cost.
spend per pair also depends on cost of living/access. assuming you have basic hygiene you can wear a pair multiple days before washing so don't feel compelled to buy a bunch of pants at once
yeah but i kinda need to buy a lot of clothes
and i’m not saying that just cause i want to
a lot of my stuff is just not wearable for this office, too casual
i thought it’d be fine but not after yesterday
so im panicking a little
if all u need is a lot of chinos or dress pants thatll be inoffensive and have solid build quality youd be hard pressed to find a better deal than uniqlo.
honestly you could just source your entire work uniform from uniqlo if you want the least expensive, least time consuming answer.
ty, yeah i’ll get a couple from uniqlo. if i wanted to go one step further, and find stuff in the 100-125$ range (flexible), is there a roster of places commonly regarded well? i could do just uniqlo, but i have some extra time on my hands
j crew, abercrombie, banana republic, cos, polo ralph lauren on sale
secondhand, any of the above plus casatlantic, universal works, brooks brothers, buck mason, and kaptain sunshine as a shortlist
there's always a tradeoff with cost vs effort vs quality though; my pants are nice and inexpensive because i spent a bunch of time on ebay/mercari/flea markets, but you know your tolerance for that stuff
Are you in the US?
yes
