Personally Im a boring ass beige square but I'd prefer a plain white shirt w/ that loud tie

I’d go with a solid shirt. If you have some time and like 30$ to spend, you could find a nice muted tie on eBay. While there aren’t really are rules about this kind of thing (in spite of what YouTube/bloggers say) one way of looking at a suit is that’s a vessel to create silhouette and bring focus up to your face. If you go too extreme in tie choice, you’ll disrupt that purpose. That’s just one way of looking at it though.
Also - I borrowed a tie for my high school graduation. And was better for it.

The way to go. I’m in my mid 30s. Own lots of nice ties, and still steal them from my dad. It’s a time honored tradition.
