Pixelmon not rendering
All Pokemon within the Pixelmon mod (at least for the version on 1.21.1 neoforge) are invisible when using the Iris mod, not just with shaders active but having the mod running at all.

Would there be a log for this? I never said it was crashing

How to find crash reports and logs
If your issue involves a game crash, please locate the crash-reports folder in your .minecraft directory and drag the relevant crash report into Discord.
If your issue does NOT involve a crash, or there is otherwise no available crash report, please locate the logs folder in your .minecraft directory and drag the file named latest.log into Discord.

I’ve never heard of this issue occurring before though and lots of people have used pixelmon and iris together
Maybe a problem specific to a version of pixelmon?
It is a beta version so could be, when i started troubleshooting there was a reddit post with someone claiming it was a known issue but I saw no other mention of it so doubted that claim
Is there a way I can exclude pixelmon entities from iris rendering as a workaround?

Found a comment buried in pixelmon discord, it's their end.
Actually, we're a really new addition to the 1.21 modding scene! Our previous version was 1.16.5, and I don't think Iris worked for that.
We're currently working with the Iris developer to find a solution - we have custom rendering that Iris simply does not expect and this might take a bit of finesse from both our ends to solve. We're looking into it though!
In theory, using
Ctrl + G
should allow the use of our injected shaders, but I believe something else is going on underneath this all, as that does not work. We'll resolve it together as soon as we can 💪Ah, perhaps I was thinking of cobblemon or people using pixelmon with oculus
Yes, most Pixelmon players have only needed Optifine so far, Iris is a first
Hey thanks heaps for the answer, I appreciate you clarifying! I will say, I've switched back to 1.16.5 and have got shaders working with Occulus and Embeddium, if that helps narrow down a cause at all
Appreciate, it's not something specific to a shader vs another, it's more that we completely handle rendering of Pixelmon entities and Iris doesn't quite expect that
We're talking with Iris to see if we can at least stall the issue by preventing Iris from applying shader handling to our entities, so they don't just outright vanish
since a more comprehensive solution will take more time
The real goal would be to get Iris-quality shaders to work on all Pixelmon, because it would look fantastic as we can see by other mods that it plays well with

You should be able to use an alpha version of Iris from Patreon, or wait for next version out to use shaders with Pixelmon!
