Best way to share 50K photos
I have a large archive of historical family photos that I want to share with other family users thru Ente. What is the easiest and best way to do this? Currently, I share the account credentials, but I'd rather everyone could just see them in their own account.
I am on the 1TB paid plan.

The best way to share your large archive of 50K historical family photos securely with multiple family members on Ente Photos, without sharing account credentials, is to use shared albums. You can share albums directly with family members by entering their registered email addresses if they have Ente accounts. If they don't have accounts, you can invite them to sign up and then share albums with them. Alternatively, you can create public links to share albums securely; these links are end-to-end encrypted but can be accessed without an Ente account. Since you are on a 1TB paid plan, you can also add up to 5 family members to your plan so they each have their own private space and access the shared storage without extra cost. For detailed steps and options, see https://help.ente.io/photos/features/share.
Hey, @FALLiNG KNiFE did this help?
Perhaps. But how do I add 50K photos (already in Ente) to a shared album?
To share an album in Ente Photos, you can do the following:
- If the person you want to share with is already on Ente, share the album by entering their registered email address.
- If they are not on Ente, send them an invite to sign up first, then share the album with them.
- Alternatively, create a public link to the album by opening the album and clicking the Share icon. This link can be shared with anyone, even if they don't have an Ente account. The link can be password protected or set to expire.
For collecting photos from others, you can use the "Collect photos" feature by opening the album, clicking the share album icon, selecting "Collect photos," and copying the link to share.
You can find more details on sharing albums and links at https://help.ente.io/photos/features/share#sharing and https://help.ente.io/photos/features/collect#how-to-collect-photos-on-web-desktop.
Can I select and add photos to an album in bulk? Or must I add 50,000 photos to an album, 50,000 times?
You can select in bulk
Long press the images you'd like to add to that album
There is also a little check on the right where dates are so you can select that whole day
A little more 'bulk' in bulk select would be useful. Selecting by date will probably cut down from 50k to 5K, but its still a sizable burden.
Is 'Untitled' an album? If it was, or if there could be a default album containing everything, that would get me where I want to go.
I simply want to share all pictures with other users.
If you have an album named Untitled that contains all these items you can share it. You can't share Uncategorized though
You could select all albums (long-press to select one album > click on all), and then click on the Share button
Hey @FALLiNG KNiFE can this be marked as solved?
