can't delete account

no matter what i try, the "Delete User" button just doesn't do anything. pressing it enough times turns the page into a 500 error, but i can sign out and back in and the account is not deleted. not even a confirmation email.

no relevant errors in console, and i've tried deleting cookies/cache as well as several different browsers.
