Network Instability in the game
The issue started since June 10th wherein I started to experience abrupt packet losses for no reason at all. I have tried the following:
1. Factory Reset the PC
2. Reset my Network
3. Thoroughly checked the main network box that contained the fiber internet cable
4. Change Ethernet Cables ( Although my LAN cables are of CAT6 rated )
4. Contacted my broadband connection provider ( ACT Fibernet ). They say everything on their end is stable, given I have provided the Riot direct IP address that pings Mumbai servers ( 151 dot 106 dot 246 dot 0 )

can you explain the issue a bit more? abrupt packet loss?
I believe Atria is one of the biggest ISPs in India, and if the problem was on their end, we'd probably see a lot more complaints here soooooo
packet losses started abruptly, as in, it wasn’t gradually starting
it just started and the percentages went up

I just complained about my issue, given the troubleshooting I went through.
how much ploss do you get per game?
I lose about 400-500 per deathmatch
and about a 1000 in a swiftplay
for the record, I was losing, at max just 5-6 even in a full standard game
standard as in a spike defuse race to 13
and I was basically losing no packets during deathmatches, until yesterday
I don’t really like asking for help without me trying as much as possible in atleast finding out the cause to such issues but atm, i’m just helpless and I want to know why the cause, hence the tags towards the Riot employees
could you run a traceroute to the ip screenshot?

ping 192.168.0.1 -n 100
and show a ss of the summary at the endis this to test the connection between my machine and the router? Cause I have my machine connected straight to my router via LAN anyway, it would almost always ping the router under 1ms

I have 4 other windows laptops lying with me , I would not post this complaint before trying the game on em in the first place
I understand it’s just easy for you to blame on me for whatever i’m facing ( given you’ve only asked me two traceroutes ), but it’s ok
seem similar issues on here and there was no issue on ISPs end

okay so ACT has more than 2 million customers in india, now lets say 1% of all the customers play valorant, that is 20000 people, and if it was an isp issue then all those 20000 would have the packet loss you have
and there would be a flood with ppl complaining

also I have 3 different routers and even modems, all over a gigabit of network bandwidth

Your network adapter is not dropping or corrupting packets, No Unknown Protocols, Unicast vs Non-Unicast Ratio looks normal

I legit fresh installed my PC thrice with tye drivers that my motherboard manufacturer gave me, and with the latest realtek LAN drivers

contacting and gaining support from Riot support is a loop anyway, they obviously note I experience packet loss and ask me to run the basic troubleshooting ( which I already did ) and would come to a conclusion that it is an ISP issue and would ask me to let them re-route the traffic
When I ask my ISP, they either say they can’t or they would say the traffic is fine
I’ve done this like 5-6 times

I had a similar issue 9 months ago and my ISP wasn’t of any direct help at all
in the end I just had to wait for a fortunate time that it happened to fix itself ( given after kenji re-routed the traffic on his end and the packet losses appeared after )

Riot even asked me to fill a form regarding the network issue and said they would reach out to my broadband provider and let me notify if done, apparently after 3-4 months, they happen to just notify me that my broadband connection’s support is not answering for some reason
Believe me when I went through mental turmoil in order to solve network issues and packet loss issues that I was hellbent to solve , even though they were out of my hand

Get a constant ping in the background while you play in peak hours, coming going ploss sounds like a congestion in your ISP core
Peak hours about 5-10pm local time
Ill check the stats when I get online
it’s been happening almost all day 24/7 since 10th
hence the frustration
I literally kept val open for more than 6-7 ours just to figure when and at what times are the congestions happening

ok very interesting xD, out of three matches ( each of a TDM, DM and a swiftplay ) , I only managed to drop 2 packets in total which is pretty insane. It was never this case in the last 2 days

It all depends how your ISP how they have network set up, your physical fibres in front of your house or block can be going longer way. Get a topic up we can check if routing is fine

so there is still packet loss, wherein the game loses 3-4 packets periodically ( roughly ever 8-9 seconds )
ping ( RTT average ) on the other hand ( at the moment ) stays between 15-17 and spikes to a relative high when the character moves
After a DM, I happen to lose 117 packets
update : playing another game of DM right now, I appear to lose no packets while i’m playing
Losing about 1% packets in a TDM at the moment, lost 1100 packets
played an unrated and lost well over 3000 packets
traceroute when the game is running and losing packets

even in eu i have the same problem i think its something global or idk what they are doing with the servers

played 2 TDMs,1 DM, 1 Swiftplay no ploss while playing, occasional packet loss peaks along with ping spikes but that’s once in a while now
