GTA V online mode
im using GTA V enhanced its launching without any problems (i used the way shown in FAQs here) story mode works properly but when i try to join online mode the game loads very long ending up in an exception saying there are problems with BattlEye runtime. The error is ingame its not an external exception. The checkbox for BattlEye runtime in GTAs heroic settings is enabled. anyone some ideas or experience with this issue

Grand Theft Auto V gets BattlEye anti-cheat, breaks online play on ...
Surprisingly, Rockstar have now added BattlEye anti-cheat to Grand Theft Auto V / GTA Online, and sadly it seems they have not enabled the support for Linux desktop and Steam Deck with Valve's Proton. ARTICLE UPDATED.

so theres no way to make it run?...in the early days a few years ago it worked so there has to be a way
You cannot play online anymore ever since they added BattlEye. It is technically possible to bypass this, but as soon as you do, you can potentially get banned / your character wiped
I should note that Rockstar claims this issue is caused by Linux/Steam Deck here, which is just a lie. You're of course free to make your own decisions, but I wouldn't want to put myself at the mercy of a company that already lied to me

Very poetic haha but ure right its not worth it but thanks now i know theres absolutely no real way to get this runnin
...very sad i mean technically its possible they just dont want it

But if i use the game in my vm there shouldnt be any Problem right?
Assuming your VM has GPU acceleration, it might work. I'm not sure if GTA V blocks VMs too

The game should not even recognize that its running inside an vm
To the game it looks like a normal windows
It would be new to me that theres a mechanic that makes the game look beyond the system borders to see if theres another system running around
There are plenty of ways to detect VMs, and other anti-cheat software already does: https://old.reddit.com/r/VFIO/comments/fztd4e/vanguard_valorant_anticheat_not_working_in_vm/
Welcome to modern gaming heh

But thats more linke guessing there is no safe way to detect i know that some software can read indicators
In the valorant case its because of kernel level anticheat
BattlEye also has VM detection: https://github.com/zhaodice/qemu-anti-detection/issues/80
Correct, it's a cat-and-mouse game, like everything in anti-cheat territory

Man it suxx anticheat does not do what it should
All lobbies in many games even big game titles are full of cheaters and stuff but the shi**y anticheat systems block VMS and system compatibility Software
š¤”š¤”
Its not only bout GTA ive got enough playtime in the 12 years since release but its about gaming in General
Sure its hard to seperate those legal softwares from real cheaters but it is possible they just dont want it

most anti cheats have VM detection
typically it will kick you if that's a case that the devs care abuot
