Immich as a Google Photos API Alternative for Client Public Galleries?
Hello everyone,
I'm exploring options for displaying client photo galleries on our websites, and I'm wondering if Immich could be a viable solution for this use case.
Previously, we used the Google Photos API to fetch and display public albums and photos from client galleries. However, recent changes to the Google Photos API have made this impossible for our needs (the Picker API isn't suitable, as we need automated fetching for public galleries).
Could Immich potentially be used to serve public photo albums or galleries for clients in a similar way, where we could programmatically access their public content via an API? We're looking for an alternative where clients could upload photos, and we could then display them on our sites without requiring manual interaction for each photo/album fetch.
Any insights or suggestions on whether Immich's API or features could support this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You could link the client to a user and use a per-client api key to get all pictures/albums
Or you could link the client to an album on an admin user
There are some side projects that are basically galleries #immich-kiosk #immich-frame for instance
There's also a public proxy side project for giving access without the account management https://github.com/alangrainger/immich-public-proxy
