Why can't <13 developer's join the Dev Forum? - Roblox Forum
Hello everyone! I have a friend that is <13 on Roblox and he makes very good games. Recently he tried to Log in into the DevForums of Roblox but instead, he got a screen saying "When I tried to log in, It acted normal. It reloaded the page and I was logged in. I watched a video about how <13 accounts cannot log into the DevForums but I was confused. Why would Roblox not allow that? There is safe chat on the DevForums too. Maybe Spamming or Very Simple questions?

Mostly because kids aren't kinda professional and might cause some trouble like in the old Roblox forums. This is my answer and i don't know if its true but i just think that Roblox doesn't want kids to ruin the dev forum. I also think that roblox thinks that people under the age of 13 arent good at building yet but wait... If he's scripting then how did he learn that in like 12?!??!?!??!?!?!?

It is impossible to log in into the devforum using an alt account
and if you've made your account and set the date to 1923 just so that you join the devforum, then you're just a cheap * who can't wait.

I get why under 13 isn't allowed though. Kids aren't always professional on forums. That's my opinion, and though some kids could be good devs, that doesn't mean they are professional.

It's a lose of moderation resources for some stupid checking if you are an okay person below age of 13 to join. It's well known most of people under the age of 13 would make a free model game and then try defending it and claiming it's a good game. It's just a bad idea. Consider the fact, there are aswell those people who claim they are "developers" "builders" "scripters" when they have no or very little experience, Like come on, if you think naming yourself "developer" is a good flex, your just weird. Well yes, on the other hand, there are some people under the age of 13 who make decent games, but it's just a small minority, plus finding them is not easy

They probably do this to keep the devforums more mature and formal. I know there can be some kids under 13 that might be mature, but there's also a lot of people who are not. They simply want to filter out any spam or useless threads.

I think its because they spam and troll so thats why <13 accounts cannot log into the DevForums but when i try to log in it says: "This application is not available on this account, try switching account" something like that i don't remember but i think they should make a test like a fake forum and roblox moderators would see how they react, if they spam or troll roblox wont let them in but if they are good roblox would let them in and then when it all ends roblox tells them that it was just a test and it shows how good you did then they can use the DevForums

It's because 13 is the lowest age in the US that you can legally collect data on a person without their consent. COPPA clearly outlines that a person under the age of 13 is not allowed to have data collected on them without their consent, this number was chosen because it's when kids are considered teenagers and there fore no longer considered immature. This is why services like Mastodon and many online forums don't have an age limit, they don't harvest your data.
