Roblox Controversy (again) with the change of Commercial Uses of ROBLOX IP - Roblox Forum
Very recently on DevForum an announcement was made regarding further limitations of Commercial Uses of Roblox IP. ROBLOX from now on is preventing commercial off-platform use of ROBLOX IP (which includes names, logos, badges and ). By classic Roblox avatars, ROBLOX means all R6 and R15 avatars (exception are R15 avatars that are heavily customized and changed to the point it's classic form is not evident).
It is possible to still use R6/R15 in off-platform commercial use only with a proper permission from ROBLOX themselves which most likely is not a easy thing to get.
Affected may be:
- R6/R15 clothing stores
- Game trailers and promotion material featuring R6/R15 anywhere
- Truthfully speaking, all kinds of youtube videos that are monetized and also feature R6/R15 avatars.
I'm really enraged by this and you can easily tell ROBLOX is constantly trying to force everybody to use Rthro despite it's lack of popularity and hate. Thoughts?

How the hell is this supposed to be beneficial? Almost every Roblox videos on Youtube features either R6 or R15. Additionally, Rthro, especially Rthro packages, are not as flexible to use as classic R6/R15 avatars, so it may look out of place in some thumbnails or related media. If you want to make a Roblox video with no problems with Roblox's legal team, you either have to use no Roblox avatars or use the Rthro packages that will offer the video creators little options for creativity.
In short, this will harm Youtubers.

even if this gets enforced, its not like there's anything anyone can do about it... roblox's moneymakers are little kids with their mom's credit card. they don't give a rat's *** if this type of update pushes away their older playerbase that doesn't have such a high probability to pay money. little kids don't care that much about their avatars changing shape and roblox acknowledges this-- for older players its either adapt or quit.
popular devs are probably going to get a free pass when it comes to this and the only people hurt will be small game devs for games that don't bring roblox a lot of money.

I’m curious on what Roblox wants from all of this. Might need to read the DevPost about it. It seems odd that they’re trying to get rid all things related to classic Roblox.
My guess is investors, and wanting to be taken more seriously from the public.
